How it works
Strong composition usually follows a few well-known guides, and this tool drops them straight over your image so you can check or plan one. Load a picture and overlay the rule of thirds, the golden ratio (phi) grid, the golden spiral, or diagonal guides, drawn on a canvas in your browser. Line up your focal points with the intersections and the spiral, and you can see at a glance whether the composition is balanced or where to crop.
You can switch guides on and off and combine them, and download the image with the overlay if you want to share or keep your notes. Because everything is drawn on your device, the picture is never uploaded - it works offline and stays private.
Example. Load a landscape and turn on the rule-of-thirds grid: the horizon sits dead center, so you crop to drop it onto the lower third line and move the lone tree onto a left intersection. The golden spiral confirms the eye now leads to the tree.

What is the difference between thirds and the golden ratio?
Both place lines off-center to create balance. The rule of thirds splits the frame into even thirds; the golden ratio uses the proportion phi (about 1.618), so its lines sit a little closer to the center. The golden spiral adds a curved path for leading the eye.
Can I save the image with the guides?
Yes. The image and the chosen overlays are combined on a canvas and exported as a PNG, handy for planning a crop or sharing composition notes.
Is my image uploaded?
