Age calculator

Pick a date of birth to get an exact age, the next-birthday countdown, and totals lived. Everything runs in your browser - nothing is uploaded.

How it works

Pick a date of birth and the calculator works out an exact age as years, months, and days - the way you would actually say it, not a rounded decimal. By default it measures the age as of today, but you can set any "age at" date to find how old someone was (or will be) on a specific day, which is useful for forms, anniversaries, and planning ahead.

Alongside the exact age it shows the countdown to the next birthday and the totals lived so far: total days, total weeks, and total hours. The month-and-day breakdown borrows correctly across months of different lengths and across leap years, so the figure stays accurate all year round. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is sent to a server.

Example. For a birthdate of 14 March 2000, viewed on 10 June 2026, the exact age is 26 years, 2 months, and 27 days, with the next birthday about 9 months away and well over 9,500 days lived.

FAQ

How is the exact age calculated?

The tool counts whole years from the birthdate to the target date, then the remaining whole months, then the leftover days, borrowing from the previous month when needed. This matches how ages are normally stated and accounts for months of different lengths.

Does it handle leap years?

Yes. The day-by-day arithmetic uses real calendar dates, so February 29 and the varying lengths of months are handled correctly, both in the years/months/days breakdown and in the total-days figure.

Can I calculate age on a past or future date?

Yes. Set the "age at" date to any day and the calculator reports the age on that date. Leave it on today for the current age. The next-birthday countdown is measured from that same reference date.

Is my birthdate sent anywhere?

No. The whole calculation runs in your browser. The date you enter is not uploaded, logged, or stored on a server.
