How it works
A wheel of names is the fun way to pick a random winner from a list. Type or paste your names, one per line, and they are dealt out as coloured slices around the wheel. Press spin and the wheel turns, slows down, and stops with the pointer on one name - the chosen one. It is the everyday tool for classroom participation, giveaway draws, deciding who goes first, choosing where to eat, or settling any "who or which one" question with a bit of suspense.
The result is not for show: each spin lands on a name chosen with the browser's cryptographic random generator, so every name on the wheel has an exactly equal chance and past spins never tilt the next one. Add or remove names and the wheel redraws instantly, and you can spin again as many times as you like. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is sent to a server, so your list of names stays on your own machine.
Example. Enter "Ada", "Grace", "Alan", and "Linus" on four lines and the wheel splits into four equal slices. Hit spin and it eases to a stop with the pointer on one name, say Grace, who is announced as the winner. Spin again for a fresh, independent draw.

How does the wheel of names pick a winner?
When you spin, the tool first picks the winning name using the Web Crypto random generator, then animates the wheel so it comes to rest with the pointer on that slice. Because the choice is made by a fair random draw rather than by where you "let go", every name has an equal chance no matter how the wheel looks.
Is the spin actually random and fair?
Yes. Each name occupies an equal slice and the winner is drawn with the browser's cryptographic random generator, which gives every option the same independent probability. A name that just won is no more or less likely to win the next spin.
How many names can I add to the wheel?
As many as you like - type or paste them one per line and the wheel redraws to fit. Blank lines and stray spaces are ignored, so you can paste a messy list without tidying it first. With a very long list the slices get thin, but the draw stays perfectly fair.
Are the names I enter sent anywhere?
No. The whole thing runs locally in your browser. The names you type are not uploaded, logged, or stored on a server.
